Donnersbachklamm

The Donnersbachklamm gorge. It is a natural monument and, without exaggeration, a great silent attraction. You hike across forest and meadow, past sandbanks, to the Holzknechthütte. At the heart of the gorge, the large footbridge and the story bench invite you to listen and observe. Continue up to the gorge rest area, through the narrow rock tunnel and green forest up to the forest road - this leads you back to the starting point

Finsterkarsee

There are two ways to reach the picturesque lake above the Finsterkaralm. Take the marked trail from Christerbauer or the chairlift to the middle station. Once you have arrived at the alpine pasture, you head over a steeper section of forest and then up to the mountain lake on fluffy, soft alpine ground.

Salza Wasserfall.jpg

Salza Waterfall

An easy walk to spend time together and be captivated by the spectacle of the water as the waterfall’s spray, some 40 metres high, flows into a “lagoon”. The walk starts at the new car park just past the Salza turn-off. Follow the signs along the road until you reach the bridge, then turn right and continue along a footbridge to the waterfall. Walking time approx. 1 hour

Wörschach Waterfall

The walk begins in the village of Wörschach. There is an admission charge for the gorge! The route leads over ladders and footbridges, past waterfalls, to the end of the gorge, where a signpost indicates the way back to Wörschach via the sulphur spring or the onward route to Spechtensee.  On the way back to Wörschach, shortly after the sulphur spring, you have the option of visiting the impressive Wolkensteig castle ruins, a 20-minute walk away. After a break at the donkey ranch, it takes about 15 minutes to walk back to the gorge entrance, where you can view and purchase the unique sponge heads. Walking time for the circular route: approx. 2 hours (steep with steps)
